What have we learned from Covid-19 Disaster?

The future human history will certainly describe the impact of this Covid-19 catastrophe: millions of people are infected and hundreds of thousands of people die, resulting in the loss of tens of trillions of dollars worldwide.

But will history describe what humans have learned? What has changed? This question must be answered by each of us.

At least I expect the people of Taiwan to learn that the people of Taiwan are not only citizens of Taiwan, but also citizens of the world. We can form a good example of the world, and deploy high-quality government governance, democratic self-discipline, and spread care in the face of disaster. We are also global citizens. We are happy to share experiences and have a good vision and imagination of the world, so as to design and advocate the formation of a new world in the future.

I am happy to share Hawking's last book (Brief Answers to the Big Questions) on the vision and efforts of the new world in the future. He looks forward to a group of influential people in this world who can show their creativity, courage and leadership. I hope they can successfully deal with the goal of sustainable development, starting from the common interests of mankind, rather than personal interests.

Hawking said: I am aware of the preciousness of time. Please grasp now and act now!

Taiwanese are global citizens, a group of influential people in this world, including each of us. Please design a new Taiwan and a new world together and act now!

我們從新冠肺炎災難中學到什麼？

未來的人類歷史，一定會描述這次新冠肺炎大災難的影響：數百萬人感染，數十萬人死亡，導致全世界數十兆美元的損失。

但是歷史會不會描述到，人類學到什麼？改變了什麼？這個問題必須由我們每一個人來回答。

至少我期待台灣人民學到：台灣人民不只是台灣公民，同時也是全球公民，我們可以對這個世界形成好的典範，面對災難的超前部署優質政府治理、民主自律、傳播關懷。我們也是全球公民，我們樂於分享經驗，對世界有好的願景與想像，進而設計、倡議未來新世界的成型。

對未來新世界的願景與努力，我樂於分享霍金的最後一本書(Brief Answers to the Big Questions)，他期待:這個世界一群有影響力的人，能展現出他們的創意、勇氣與領導力。願他們能成功應對永續發展的目標，以人類共同的利益為出發點，而不是個人的利益。

霍金說：我對於時間的寶貴，很有覺悟。請把握現在，即可行動吧！
